Churchill, Wellington and Thatcher?

Does Cameron really think Thatchers funeral should be up there with such great historical figures from the past? Churchill and Wellington really did save the country maybe the world from dictators; Thatcher dined with them. She may have saved Pinochet.

Would anyone expect such a fuss when John Major dies? Of course not. This is a foolish decision that will come to haunt Cameron. So much for austerity. All in it together?

According to the Guardian " Apart from Churchill, three other prime ministers received a full state funeral in modern times: the Duke of Wellington in 1852, Viscount Palmerston in 1865 and William Gladstone in 1898. The funerals of later prime ministers have tended to be more modest affairs."
