This morning the Block The Builders protested against nuclear weapons at AWE Aldermaston. People from the Green Party, CND , Reading Peace Group and many others were their, braving the cold weather to protest against nuclear weapons. The cold war was over many years ago, we no longer have any use for these weapons of mass destruction, but the billions wasted could make a huge difference against poverty, climate change, education and health. The road was blocked at 7 am and the last protestor was removed at 9.30 am. The brave protestors struggled with the cold, though supporters had blankets ready they wern't allowed to hand them over. It seemed to be an attempt to force them to give up as they slowly froze, but it didn't work.
